WILD YARROW EQUINE & SOMATICS

Located in Victor Idaho, our mission is to support the growth and well-being of Teton Valley children and families through horseback riding and nature based healing programs for social and emotional health. We offer a unique blend of healing modalities to nurture emotional regulation, confidence, and deep connection to self, animal, and earth. Rooted in trauma-informed practices and guided by nervous system wisdom, our programs create safe, empowering spaces where children can thrive—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Acutonics with the Herd for Kids and Adults

Acutonics is a gentle, non-invasive alternative to acupuncture that uses precision-calibrated tuning forks instead of needles to stimulate specific points on the body. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acutonics applies sound vibration to acupuncture points, meridians, and energy centers to support physical and emotional healing. The soothing tones and vibrations help calm the nervous system, balance energy, and promote a sense of safety and relaxation—making it an ideal modality for sensitive or needle-averse kids.

Horses as healers. Research shows.

Horses have a coherent heart rate pattern which is associated with grounding, joy, and low stress. When we enter a horse's energetic field our nervous system taps into their heart rhythm which supports us in feeling more calm, relaxed, and happy. Our blood pressure & heart rate decrease.

Horses help children ground deeply into the rhythms of the Earth—teaching presence, trust, and intuitive connection. In their stillness and strength, kids discover a spiritual ally and a mirror for their own inner wisdom.

Spending time with horses helps children develop confidence, coordination, empathy, and emotional regulation. Research shows that equine-assisted activities can significantly reduce stress and anxiety in children and improve social functioning and self-esteem. Caring for a horse—feeding, grooming, and building trust—fosters responsibility, patience, and a deeper sense of connection with others and the natural world. The rhythmic movement of riding also supports sensory integration and motor skills development.
